Microsoft really wants to be sure that people who are still running Windows XP know that the end is neigh. The end of support for the old operating system is April 8 and after that date, no more security updates will be coming. Microsoft wants users on XP systems to upgrade to a new OS.

I know loads of people still using XP, most of which wouldn't have a clue about upgrading.

I imagine the way most users upgrade is buying a new computer!

I'd guess so too. As those on XP still will probably be on a 32bit 1 core P4, probably not even a high end P4 or more than 1gb ram. Running Vista/7 or 8 on that would be interesting. It's slow enough on 1.8 dual cores or core duos.
