I have a small website http://peterbeaumont.com/ that I play around with occasionally.
I ran it through the W3C Markup Validation and it showed an error with an open/unclosed div on the 'mainmenu' section, so I added one in Line 20 of Pages 1 and 2 and that solved the problem.
However, when I made the change to Page 3 (Line 26), it created a problem with the layout of the Slideshow below.
Could anyone point me in the right direction, please - I'm not sure where to make any other changes.
If anyone has time to look, I would be grateful.
For reference, Pages 1, 2 and 3 currently show with the added div closure, Pages 4 and 5 are as they were originally with the unclosed mainmenu div.
Thank you.

I've had a very quick look and I'm not entirely convinced that the W3C Markup Validation site is reporting correctly. That said it does seem odd that the mainmenu div encapsulates the entire page. I can fix it but are you actually obliged to display the Visual SlideShow link on the slider? If not I'd get rid of it.

Hi Zap
Thanks for replying - I also wondered why the mainmenu div was like that - however, if I don't close that div on all 5 pages, they all display properly on my screen, so I was tempted to just revert to that, unless you think it might cause a problem?
It was only on a whim that I checked it on the W3C website and thought it would be nice to make it precise and "proper"...then found I couldn't do it  :)
I can't seem to find the VisualSlideshow link, which is obligatory on the free version - maybe it's hidden, or maybe I'm too thick to find and delete it.

I would probably be inclined to revert as a quick fix but I'll try and take a proper look at it over the weekend :)

Ok, thank you for your help - just have a look when you've nothing more important to do, it's not life-threatening, I was just stumped for a solution with my limited knowledge.

After resting my brain overnight, I now seem to have sorted it.
Thank you Zap for your replies.
