Laptop tracking/anti-theft software...

I wondered if anyone here was using any of the subject software successfully?

I've been experimenting with Prey (which gave my laptop a location of 18 miles form where I reside) and Lojack (which put me around 4 miles away), therefore neither filled me with any confidence.

The 'native' Windows location services I use with various Apps always show my position very accurately, to within maybe 10 or 20 yards.

After 'Googling' a little, there doesn't seem to be many viable alternatives, so I wondered if I was wasting my time?
