I bought a Amazon Fire TV Box today and set up was very good indeed. A couple of problems (well three actually)

1: TV only had two HDMI ports and I required three (disconnected the recorder for now.

2: BOSE soundbar works with TV and Freesat but not with Amazon Fire so I can only hear via the Toshiba TV. (Help).

3: Can't get ITV Hub to work, I've downloaded it but it then welcomes me to BT Home Hub 5 and nothing else. (Help).

I'm running this via Devolo Powerline extenders and Ethernet cable.  :dunno:

Re 1), does the soundbar not have any HDMI inputs you could use?

Re 2), how is the sound at connected to the TV? If via HDMI, do both the tele and soundbar support ARC and have you got the right specification HDMI cables?

The Amazon Fire TV does have it's quirks my mine gripe is the remote which is occasionally  unresponsive.

The only sound output is via HDMI , mine connects first to the soundbar which has 4 HDMI inputs.

ITV hub never used but maybe worth changing the default DNS on the AFTV

AFTV has AC WiFi which I've found works well with an AC router ie HH5

The beauty of the AFTV is it's ability to use sideloaded apps like Kodi which opens up a whole new world of access.

Would you care to enlighten me on that last point, Steve?  Where can Kodi be found, and how would it be installed on the AF Stick?

Kodi

http://kodi.tv/about/

Some of the Kodi add ons will permit you to stream channels that require a subscription this is of course illegal although no one in the uk has been tried or prosecuted for it yet.

Sideload abdfire http://www.htpcbeginner.com/install-kodi-on-amazon-fire-tv/2/

Via ES File Explorer https://seo-michael.co.uk/tutorial-how-to-install-kodi-on-a-firestick/

I use one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neet%C2%A9-SWITCH-input-output-Switcher/dp/B001DAHS5Q/ref=sr_1_sc_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1451222672&sr=8-4-spell&keywords=neet+hdmi+switchbox on my setup as my old Samsung LCD only has 1 HDMI (I have a Freesat box and a Roku streaming stick connected)
