I have just connected on the ADSL Home Max and as I posted on here earlier it is disconnecting every few minutes.
I didn't realise that there is the 10 day calibration period where they find the max speed stable connection.

Do you know if the normal Home 2000 is just straight forward, like any other ISP, where you get a fixed connection without this 10 day messing?

I play games and stability is far more important than anything to me.
Previously I has a 512 MB connection with Orange and until they started wreckng connections it was always solid and never needed this calibrating carry on.

Also the customer support here at Idnet... Is it only available Monday - Friday?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy

The Home 2000 is a fixed-rate service and you can regrade to that if you wish. But your line is very long so I'm not sure at this stage which fixed-rate speed we could regrade you to.

I did reply to the contact form you submitted to us yesterday evening. Our office hours are 9 tp 5:30 Mon-Fri but we do provide support outside of those hours too.

Hey andy,

ADSL Max is a bit touch and go really, it either works well, or it doesent!
Im also a heavy gamer and my ADSL max is fine *After* the 10 day period.  Really depends if you want the *Possible* extra speed (Which is taking a chance) over a fixed service.
