Two tier internet

No, not the usual talk about it...

I just did a comparison on ThinkBroadband of IDNet with what I consider it's natural alternatives, Zen and Newnet, then put Tiscali, TalkTalk and Pipex against them.

IDNet wins all round, of course, but there's a clear division between the two groups.

Nice to see what we already know confirmed in this way. :)

Good to see that IDNet is consistently top, even when compared to it's closest competitors. As you say, confiming what we already know!

Yup. What strikes me is that all the Pipex etc customers are rating their service so poorly, but are staying. I can only conclude contractual obligations...

Tiscali, TalkTalk and Pipex really seem to be trying their best to P off their customers, why anyone would run a business this way I don't know, I guess they attract customers who can't see past the headline price.

I was with Zen before IDNet and their service was excellent, I only migrated because of IDNet's more generous download allowance. I would say connection wise that Zen and IDNet are just as good as each other but IDNet customer service has the edge over Zen in my opinion.

That's what kept me there for so long, Rik.  I would never sign up with another ISP that only offered 12 month contracts now.

I can claim no such mitigating circumstances, i was blinded by laziness and the need for an easy life. But all has been revealed to me by IDNET. What a fool i was!!!

I wonder what the new service from O2 will be like Rik, if you are an O2 customer you get a discount and Be seem to get good listings for for speed etc and not bad for customer service, saying that after someone being with Orange pipex etc anything would be good customer service ;), still can't compare to IDNet, having them call me back, even on my mobile still bowls me over :thup:

It's the personal touch that really makes the difference, Gary. I suspect we all feel a bit like we are doing business with friends. :)

You hit the nail on the head Rik. I ended up having a natter as well, not what I ever expected and more than I could ever have hoped after Orange/Wanadoo, gives me great faith and a very content feeling with my ISP

I suspect not, Malc. Maybe we could introduce an initiation ceremony, though. Only after passing all the stages could a new customer sign up?  ;D
