When I visit I click to see new posts since last visit.  The only thing is when I select one I go to the start of the thread not the actual new post, this can take some finding at times, you know how loooong some threads can be!  ;D
Is there a way that I can go straight to the new message?  This does happen on  other sites with forums to which I subscribe?
Nothing is perfect, not even my ignorance!

You should go to the first new message in that thread. What browser are you using and do you have cookies enabled? You are clicking on the 'New' icon and not the thread title I take it?

As Rik said, in the list of new posts, you have to click the button to go to the first unread post, and you need to set your browser to allow (and store) the cookie for this to work.

If you want to go to the last post in a thread, ignoring others you may not have read, click the icon on the right hand side of the page.  Again, cookies need to be allowed and stored in your browser for this to function.

So, in answer to the question, yes I was missing something. Good job you deal with the aged on idnetters!  ;D
