Having used about 6 ISPs in the last 18 months I can confirm for anyone who may be daft enough to be thinking of leaving IDnet (DONT). There may be some ISPs out there who offer a lot of allowance for little money but in my experience the product which IDnet offers is second to none.
As some of you will know I recently had to change ISPs due to cost. While my new ISP is OK if I had the funds I would come back to IDnet like a shot. So if you think you will get a better service elseware then think again.

Thanks for the reminder, Bill. Many of us have used enough ISPs to know when we're well off - as long as I have the choice, then IDNet is where I shall stay.

I have seen the light, or should that be I am fedup of seeing that the pipe I am is giving speeds of up to 5.5 meg and I am only getting 2.8. How they have so many customers is beyond me.

It doesn't seem to register with many people though, does it? So many posts on different forums wanting unlimited downloads, fast and reliable speeds, good Support, no throttling, hopefully a free router too and all for under £15 per month.

Best keep this quiet Rik, but I would be happy to pay a bit more for the same service that I receive now from IDNet. Shhhhhhh.

To be blunt, the cost of BB is only a tiny part of my, and anybody's outgoing monthly costs, not really sure why some people try to penny pinch on a service that we all value so much.

I agree with you. I'd find life very strange without 'net access, just as I would find it uncomfortable without heat. Sixty pence/day is hardly noticeable when I look at some of my other bills.

It's so true that you get what you pay for. Other than if prices increases (in which case I'd still give it some serious thought) I can't think of a reason to leave.

It's all part of what seems to have become the British desire to buy anything at the cheapest possible price and not be just another ripped off Brit. Hence the decline in manufacturing in the UK and the rise of it in China

To many people, the only thing that matters is the bottom line cost, value for money is secondary or isn't even considered.

I have to agree with the sentiments expressed here, I get fed up of people who have penny pinched with their BB moaning about it now, the facts are out there for all to see if you just look, a friend has started up with the O2 broadband service and they somehow through support managed to get their old Orange pop server mixed in with their new O2 smtp server in their email client and I quote "its because it all goes to the same inbox" now they are seen to have good customer service, probably because they answer the phone within twenty minutes and you may be able to understand their accent, please do not see that as a racist remark as I am far from that, but how many people are called Nigel in New Delhi and work as script monkeys for ISP's are there

So even though its Belgium with O2, its still a script and one that this time seemed to have a coffee cup ring over it!

I also agree, and it's why I haven't downgraded from HomeMax to HomeLite, even though I don't generally use more than 5Gb per month. I'm paying IDNet the same as I was paying Poopex, for a far superior service.

I have stayed on the HomeLite as I tend to go over by a couple of GB a month so unless my bills hit the £24 a month mark there is no point for me to upgrade, this month I have used 8GB but that was due to a complete fresh install of windows from scratch, roll on XP SP3 and that dvd with all the patches on, even though it still will not have IE7 by default
