Indeed Sebby. Three days at least I would wait. Maybe have a word on Friday morning with support though, so you don't get stuck with it over the weekend :)

Yahooooooo My profile has finally updated itself

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 5000 kbps
    DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)  5792 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2908 kbps

My  sync is a bit lower (proberly because my 3yr old decided to turn the router off yesterday, then 3hrs later the main RCD in the house tripped)

I notice that the actual throughput is a bit low, I notice that DeViTTo has a similar issue.

 IDnet

Could be noise, wrong MTU settings or just possibly a line fault. If we can get your stats from you, we can take a look at the most likely cause.

Lance

Could also be a BT exchange issue :)

Hmm, something's not quite right there. It could be errors leading to poor throughput, exchange congestion, MTU/RWIN problem, or just some other problem on the line. If you post your stats, it'll help us diagnose further. :)

Rik

Can't remember, are you a Speedtouch expert, Sebby. I'm trying to find how to set MTU - and failing dismally. :(

It has to be done via the CLI, Rik.

Telnet into the router and login.

Then, type:
ip ifconfig intf=LocalNetwork mtu=xxxx

And finally:
saveall

Pleasure. :)

Just to mention that, IIRC, it's set at 1500 by default. Really there's no reason to change it on the router; it's better to do it within Windows. :)

Rik

Thanks, Sebby. I was just starting on the CLI manual. :)

You'd have been reading that all night, Rik. It's pretty hefty, IIRC.

I don't know about you, but I find CLI manuals quite complex. I generally understand what it's going on about, but finding the command you need is often tough.

Rik

That was exactly where I was struggling - and the index wasn't helping. I was about to hit Google if you hadn't appeared.

I'm glad I managed to make myself useful, in that case. :)
