Not me. I am happy to wait for the second wave of beta testers to complete their work. :)

I'll wait till release and then a while for the real bugs to surface as I did with IE7 I don't like running beta software that's as important as a browser or a security ap like AV or firewall or even a service pack I think this quote says it all
"I'm posting this message from IE8. If you want to try it out, be warned, IT'S BUGGY AS HELL!!"
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Dont touch it, let them test it on someone else first.

after years of pc experience, it's the old "if its not broken, don't fix it" for me ;D and this comment reminded me why I avoid IE all together, "just give up on a stable, secure IE. It just ain't gonna happen. Microsoft Security is more of an oxymoron than Military Intellignce" >:D

Only just, though, Gary.  :eyebrow:

I'll definitely give it a go when I'm home tomorrow evening. I'm too curious not to.  ;)

Malc

I'm curious as well, but, if their's problems, can it be uninstalled?

At least one person on the American forum that I belong to has installed it. I'll see if I can copy what he has posted.

edit: his latest post..............."I uninstalled because some of the pages were not displaying properly and the navigation tended to be a little herky-jerky. It appears this release is intended only for developers and designers ( as stated )."

I love IE7 but will not chance this until I am told it's OK. Did install IE7 Pro and loved it then after a couple of months started to have problems so un-installed it.  :(

I have just tried it and as a few of you have been saying it is very buggy. Pages were not displaying correctly, but it does look cool. I'll stick to FF just now though.

Ewww. IE is horrible. Very clunky and bloated feel to it. I prefer Firefox by a long way. Oodles of configuration, much safer than IE too. It also displays websites properly so you know when a site is coded correctly (or in most cases, how badly coded it is), and has masses of add ons and extensions available that are actually useful.

IE is a VERY weak browser in comparison.

Hmm it is rather buggy... I can't find an uninstall option (too lazy to look properly) so I've opted for the nice 'emulate IE7' option which has done the trick!

If IE8 is about to be released perhaps it's time for me to look at IE6;  :eek4:  maybe not.

What is the date of the referendum for England to become an independent country ?

Rik

No, get hold of a copy of Netscape - sooo much better. ;)

Its only in its first Beta, it wont be released for quite a while I imagine, what gets me is even though its for developers really MS have said anyone can try it, I wont as uninstalling a brower like IE litters your registry, and can do more harm than good, and I'm not one for use of reg cleaners either, only ever resort to manual registry cleaning if there is an issue, reg cleaners tend to do more harm than good and offer no performance gains anyway.

Although I run Vista on one of my boxes, I haven't used IE6 since it was launched and I've been happily not using IE7 for about a year now.

I anticipate not using IE8 at least until the announcement of IE9.

Gosh, It's made by Microsoft so it can not be any good, let's all use something that  is not by Microsoft because it must be better.  :blah: I like IE7 and have tried the others.  :duck:

That's not actually true. Well, not in my experience anyway. I used to use Reg Mechanic, and swore by it. Sadly it doesn't support Vista, and they have no plans to support it. Needless to say, this pleased me no end after I bought it whilst using XP.

You do see some people posting nightmare things happening about their use of registry cleaners, but one thing I have noticed is that people using cracked software have the most problems as the program restores the correct registry entries and in a lot of cases, wrecks havoc with the pirated software. There maybe a moral of the story in there somewhere :D

I use CCleaner now, and that is very basic in comparison, but at least it removes dead entries.
