There's an easy way round this problem; stop using Vista. :P

I made the move from Vista to XP and haven't looked back since. ;D

Steve

Sorry had to bin vista, too many BSOD. However PingGraph with vista seems to work if you use the same method as for command prompt reliability i.e right click PingGraph "run as administrator" from the start menu program listing. (not checked desktop shortcut)

Yeah tried that Steve, same results. Well I'm happy with Vista I'm afraid. Don't think I've had one BSOD yet!! Touch Wood! :back:
and really want DX10 when it comes to gaming so in the mean time I'll stick with it.

I wonder, Steve, whether there's some other element of your setup blocking Ping Graph. John might have a clue...

God knows Rik! can't think of anything obvious.

Rik

It would likely be a security aspect, but I regard Vista as akin to an alligator infested swamp, so can't really give much advice.

Got a reply from John. He hasn't got a Vista system as of yet to test on, but he is hoping to rectify that this weekend and let me know what he finds.

Got this response from John not long ago Rik...

QuoteAs you suspect, it looks like it's SP1 that's preventing it running. The
attached jpg shows it running in Vista but without SP1.

He will let me know if and when he has a fix for it, but in the mean time people running Vista with SP1 will not be able to run PingGraph correctly.

Thanks for the update, Steve. John is very good, considering the price of his software, at trying to solve issues, add features etc. :)

John's a great guy. I was testing Ping Graph for him and asked if he could add text logging, oh, and could he make it either full or selective, and could he put the site name in the graph and...

He just kept sending me new versions till it had everything I'd asked for. :) He should join, then we could give him karma. :)
