Dead Printer

Yesterday, we had a power cut and our Brother all-in-one is now dead!

I've changed the fuse in the plug but it is just lifeless. Can anyone suggest anything before I go ahead and order a new one?

My thinking was to test for continuity through the lead and into the printer, Sebby. I'm guessing, though, that if it's not the internal fuse, the PSU has been taken out by the surge.

I guess the surge protector didn't work then.

I won't be too fussed if I've got to get another one; I think we paid about £150 about 5 years ago! But it would be nice if there was a relatively simple fix.

Looking at recommendations on here, i took delivery of a Brother MFC-235c yesterday.
The quality of output is really very good and a good deal at £49.99 from Amazon\Ryman.
The Software and windows drivers seem to work well and the drivers for Linux are available direct from Brothers site.

Thanks, Ted, I'll certainly get another Brother. I need a network model though, so the 235c won't be any good, but the network models aren't that expensive.
