Neat extension for Firefox, IE and Safari. 

One of the coolest way of searching the net for pictures and now also includes you tube support.

See the pictures on a 3d wall, scroll and zoom with your mouse, double click for full screen.  Works better if you have a nice graphics card.

Piclens does look good but alas there is no Linux compatible version.

Although i'm no fan of Microsoft, i would recommend a look at this demo of seadragon and photosynth. Jaw dropping.

In fact take a look at some of the other talks on this site, be warned you will spend hours viewing.

The name TED "Technology, Entertainment, Design" is pure coincidence.
