Thanks, Gary. Yet another round of updates - or I could just move to Safari as Apple keep nagging me to do. :)

Would not do that Rik, http://secunia.com/advisories/29483/ pretty bad considering its only just been released really and is buggy as hell on Windows from what I have read
You can turn off the nagging in Tools if you use the apple software updater by setting it to ignore updates you don't require :)
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Rik

Where do I do that, Gary, I keep unchecking it and it keeps coming back...

Rik

Dumb question, Gary. Where do I find it, I have nothing in the start menu or CP.

Ahh when you installed your Quicktime stuff did you untick install Apple Software Update or remove it after installation? it should be in your start menu just called apple software update. it just checks once a week for new updates, or how ever long you have it set to, saves having to keep checking through Quicktime etc

I must have chosen not to use it - it's not there, but the iTunes helper is running, which may be triggering it...

There is an option when you install iTunes to not install the automatic updater. :)

I'm afraid you can't legally install Safari, Rik, as El Reg have pointed out.

It would be a great Idea, setting up my new pc there were so many updates from just the day before typically my luck that a disc with "this months" latest common software updates would have been great :) and as you say the load off the net would be amazing
