Right where do i start.

I bought Call of Duty 4 for the PC when it came out. I had XP then and no problems running it.

I then stopped playing it on the pc and started playing it on xbox 360.

I have now re installed it on my PC, i now run vista and i get a message saying :

This application has failed to start because d3dx9_34.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I know this is a DX problem, I need to install 9.0c.. But i want to keep dx10.. question is, how do i get it working without causing problems with dx10  ???

esh

Due to the amount of performance and compatibility issues with DX10 due to protocol changes, DX9 and DX10 can be installed at the same time on Windows Vista. Go to Microsoft's websites and download and install DirectX 9.0c.
CompuServe 28.8k/33.6k 1994-1998, BT 56k 1998-2001, NTL Cable 512k 2001-2004, 2x F2S 1M 2004-2008, IDNet 8M 2008 - LLU 11M 2011

I heard it was called DX 9.0L if you want both on the PC.

I've tried installing 9.0c but i get a message saying i have a newer version installed already  ???

Got single player working by putting d3dx9_34.dll into cod4 folder.

But mp doesn't work, vista alerts me that the program has stopped working  ???

Problem was caused by a sound option........  :rant2:

Rik

Wouldn't that have been an unsound option? ;D :out:
