Hi peeps, not been around for a while sorry

We've been experiencing the odd service drop - mostly during the evenings between 9 and 10pm. I suspect our router is dying, but is there anyway to check that this is the case before buying a new one?  We're on gw5.

Cheers

Rik

Hi Chris

Connection drops at that time of night are more likely to be a noise problem than the router. Can you post your stats, daytime and around that time of night?

Aye I've gone and bought new router - Linksys WAG160N - its got fab reviews.  I can no longer connect to the router wirelessly and it keeps switching itself off - so I think as its 4 years old its just had it.  Will let you know how it goes when I've connected it up..... Wish me luck - hope the wizard is easy as I'm bit of a  noob....

Rik

You shouldn't really need the wizard, Chris, but  :fingers: anyway. :)

Didn't need the wizard as you said.  So far its awesome - speed much better, wireless connection effortless - still having the odd drop in the evenings though - few seconds but enough to interrupt world of warcraft....

Rik

Sounds like you still have noise around you, Chris. Try and get the stats close to when the line drops and also early morning.
