http://www.dslzoneuk.net/ appears to have been hit by a serious spam/virus attack. Logged in last evening and there were several 'idiotic' spam posts shown.
Logged in today and the site was down. IDNetters admins take note? :dunno:
We have several tiers of automated protection against spammers, Q, and we maintain a close manual watch on who's online, blocking access to those from known 'hostile' countries. No-one is bullet-proof, of course, but we think we've got things as watertight as possible. We also do daily backups of the forum should the worst ever happen.
Thanks Q its working now,thought I better vote ;D
I still can't get access :dunno:
Me neither, Q, are you using OpenDNS, Steve?
Tried via Opera/Chrome and FF, still unavailable, has been all day :dunno:
As I say, last evening there were approx 10 non sensical posts (total rubbish) on the board with just one solitary negative reply. Could be nothing but suspicious. ::)
They are blocking Idnet IP's by the look of it.
I just went in via Hide my Ass and it works fine.
They hate the IDnet 10/10 scores with passion.
It's a bit late for support, but I'm trying to find out what's happening, Q, I probably won't get an answer tonight now, though.
The mystery deepens :dunno: No problem Rik, it is not urgent, just a mystery :dunno:
Odd, I got a 404, Dorset...
This is what I get.

Mine via proxy

To me, it looks like the server is down, however Dorset and Steve seem to be contradicting that. Steve may be using OpenDNS, in which case there's a problem with IDNet's nameservers or, possibly, routing. Dorset and I have both used the same proxy site though, with very different results. I wonder if Dorset has a cached result. Just to complicate things further, Down for everyone shows the site as up.
I'm now getting in via proxy... :dunno:
I can access it via my phone, which is using my home router wireless connection, therefore, IDNet.
I cleared cache and flushed DNS ,then went in by proxy. Could be a DDos attack or a flakey DNS server.
Not exactly missing much anyway he content is not exactly exciting and the site owners seem to have walked away according to some of the comments made there.
There server might be having name server problems.
My server had it a few weeks ago, some people could see the site and some couldn't
Works fine for me
I'll contact support in the morning if the problem still exists.
Hold your horses Rik, back up for me now, sorry if I caused a problem for you ;)

Looks like they are having DNS issues with the server host. Couple refreshes got it working for me then a few more it stopped working. Same problem I had, my neighbour couldn't see my site and he's on BT but my mate also on BT could see my site.
It's a tragic loss. ;)
first time visiting that site since moving to IDnet from toscali 3yrs ago (Feb 24)
Working fine for me too.
I can get through straight away using both FF and Opera - but am using OpenDNS
Am I missing some thing here? Logged in straight away but looking on the home page and the ratings there is no mention of Idnet. :dunno:
I had no issue if i used anonymouse yesterday, all is fine today, O2/Be users seemed to have the same issues, maybe a routing error then via Idnet after the troubles with the central
Seems to be OK today.

Who takes notice of DSL Zone though Q, TH and Kitz get more traffic I would have thought, and does it matter anyway, we know they are a good ISP :)
Gary
I was simply replying to Den's post stating that he could not see IDNet mentioned. ;)

I know, I was replying to your one about DSL Zone and why that site matters when is a mess, and we don't want the whole of the UK knowing how good Idnet are now do we ;)
I've not been able to get into dslzone for days so thought today I would try another dns, used google and was able to load the page instantly. I still think it's something to do with the site's dns as it seems to be affecting more than one isp
Have you let support know?
I have been unable to access DSL Zone for the last 36 hours or so. I still wonder if it is down to the large amount of spam/gobbledegook they were hit with a couple of days ago, the problem arose immediately after the hit ? :dunno:
It's possible, Q. If it's still an issue on Monday, I'll ask support.
Go in via Hide My Ass and it works (again).
there is a thread running http://w3.hidemyass.com/index.php?q=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5kc2x6b25ldWsubmV0L2ZvcnVtL3ZpZXd0b3BpYy5waHA%2FZj0yNCZ0PTIwMTA0 about the DNS issues which are clearly affecting other people.
It is clear that members with other ISP's are having the same trouble, so this is down to the site and not Idnet.
