Title: 2 wire 2701HGV-C connects on one line and not another
Post by: manta7 on Apr 09, 2016, 15:35:03
I recently brought a 2701 and it would not connect to my ADSL line, the broadband light flashes fast and then slow, repeats but will not go solid green.  I tried the 2701 on a friends line and it connected - solid green lights for broadband and internet.  We are both on British Telecom (BT).  My Homehub 5 supplied with the installation connects fine and so does an old Homehub 3 indicating there's not a problem with my line.
Some info that may help:
Model - 2701HGV-C
Hardware ver - 2701-100630-009
Firmware ver - 6.3.9.41-plus.tm
VPI - 0
VCI - 38
Routed VC Mux
ATM PVC search - enabled
PPPoA

I'm using the 2701 as I want to run in bridge mode and as I'm on an overhead line they are reportedly very good for poor lines.  I would get another modem but I'm now afraid that I might have the same problem of it not connecting to my ADSL.
I also tried various filters and sockets but still it will not connect, any ideas etc greatly appricated.

Welcome to the forum.   :)

I'm not sure if any of us still use 2 Wire routers, but I'm sure someone will offer some advice soon.

I'm puzzled as to why it works elsewhere but not on your own line.

No idea!

I will add that the 2700 was the best on long lines rather than the 2701.   It might be worth spend a small amount on one of those to see if it connects.

I can't think of any logical reason either.
